Guide Pricelist: 1 guide 1 hunter: NZ$325 per 24 hours, 1 guide, 2 hunters, $225 each, 3 hunters is $185 each and 4 hunters is $165 each. This includes guiding you on over 2000 acres private land, hunting for deer and pigs, also includes lunch, snacks, non alcoholic drinks, dinner, a night in the lodge and breakfast. 24 hour minimum booking. A 24 hour hunt consists of 2 hunts on one day (AM and PM) either preceeded or followed by a night in the lodge and checkout by 9am the following morning.
Our guides have more than 20 years hunting experience throughout NZ, Canada and USA, including commercial hunting, Government and Corporate shooting operations, so you will have a good days hunting, and a good nights yarn about hunting.
For guests flying into Whakatane airport, we can provide transport to the lodge.
Animal fees: We have a flat rate, $20 per animal, regardless of size or weight for management hunts, where we are targetting yearlings and spikers and all pigs. For the ROAR we have a point fee of just $20 per point (eg a 10 pointer is a ridiculous $200!!!).
Best trip for animal sightings 2009: 16 pigs and 22 deer sighted over 4 days in April. 16 deer and 4 pigs over 3 days in June 09. 15 pigs seen, 3 pigs stalked and shot, another taken with dogs and 3 deer sighted (2 @ 50m) in one morning hunt in July 09. 23 deer seen in 2 days august 09. 27 deer seen (one shot) in three days in November 09. December 09 shortest hunt: 2 deer 15 minutes from the lodge and in sight of it, that's the 2 guys in photo 2 with deer on their shoulders.
To make a booking we require 50% deposit within 7 days of booking. Under certain circumstances this deposit is transferrable, but not refundable unless a cancellation is more than 3 months before the booked dates or 6 months before the Roar. Please email for deposit details. Remainder of guide fees is due in cash on arrival.
